The way we treat animals is a real measure of a society's compassion. Considering how we treat animals that are raised as pets, for food, for their skins, and to endure laboratory and product research, we're not very compassionate -- in fact, the level of cruelty and greed is astounding. Click the graphic above to find out more about the problem and how we can solve it.

The Jane Goodall Institute has a mission:

"The Jane Goodall Institute advances the power of individuals to take informed and compassionate action to improve the environment of all living things."

Through education, things can change for all living things, and especially for chimpanzees, with whom we share 98% of our DNA. Despite our close relationship, we continue to turn our backs as they're poached in their natural habitats, exploited by laboratories, and held captive in horrendous facilities in zoos, parks, and circuses. Visit the Jane Goodall site to find out how you can help put an end to these atrocities.

The Elephant Sanctuary, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, provides a wonderful, nurturing home for elephants that were abused in zoos, circuses, and amusement parks. You can help them take care of the elephants they have, and to buy more land and supplies so they can save more elephants from the life-shortening, health-ruining lives they lead in captivity.
End vivisection and animal testing of all kinds. And if you're a kid in school (or a parent of a kid in school), NEVER participate in any dissections or scientific experiments involving animals. There's no need for it, as existing data, computer models, and simulations are just as effective for research and education. Click the National Anti-Vivisection Society's link above to find out more.
Best Friends is an organization devoted to improving life for animals -- from pets to farm animals, from animals abused through "entertainment" to animals used for product and medical testing. Rescuing animals and educating the public are huge tasks -- and they need your help!
